Jim Ovia spoke at the University of Lagos 2019 Convocation where he received an honorary Doctor of Science degree. Part of his speech called for more private sector involvement in education, especially in Nigeria.


Reuben Abraham and Shashi Verma, CTO at Transport for London, co-wrote an op-ed for Bloomberg titled “India Needs Its Own Canary Wharf.” They call for Mumbai to redevelop the city’s port into a major financial powerhouse.


Stephanie Flanders moderated a panel with Christine Lagarde, Kristalina Georgieva, and Roberto Azevedo at the World Bank’s Semi-Annual Meeting on April 10th. The topic was “Beyond Uncertainty: Leveraging Trade to Reduce Poverty” and a recording of the panel can be found here.
